Taos Ski Valley is a legendary ski resort, a year-round alpine playground, and a gracious Old World village happily rolled into one.

The moment Swiss-born Ernie Blake laid eyes on the mountains surrounding Taos Ski Valley, he knew the high altitude, sunny southern latitude, and magnificent terrain would make an extraordinary ski resort.

Today, nearly 50 years later, Taos Ski Valley still rewards skiers with a spirit of classic alpine skiing that has been passed from one generation to the next. Ernie envisioned a resort where guests could enjoy skiing and the simple pleasures of the mountains. This is how all of us at Taos Ski Valley intend to keep it, because there are some things that should never change. The spirit of skiing is one of them.
